Summer is in full swing now and I’m enjoying the chance to make lots of chairs and develop new ideas for the second half of the year. Our local builder has told us that he will be with us in two weeks to rebuild the sheds where we do the steam bending. If you have been on a course you may remember the ramshackle sheds with ivy growing through the walls and 7ft high pillars made from breeze blocks stacked one on top of the other! It is bound to be inconvenient while the work is being done, but I can’t wait to have a purpose built space for two bending jigs and much more.
If you would like to know what is going on here on a more regular basis please have a look at The Windsor Workshop’s Facebook page which I frequently update. Please ‘like‘ and ‘share‘ the page if you feel it is of interest.
I hope you have a great summer and I look forward to meeting lots of you on courses or at shows in the second half of the year.
New Course Chair
outline of new chair from last newsletter
In my last newsletter I announced that a new course chair would be forthcoming.
Well, after making a prototype, the actual chair is now complete ready for the course 17 – 21 November.
My thanks to the three people that have already signed up to the course, leaving just three places available!
You will see from the new course dates that I will be offering this chair again 9 – 13 February 2015.
To see images of the final chair being assembled and of the prototype being painted with milk paint, please have a look at The Windsor Workshop’s Facebook page
Now that I have a decent phone (I have succumbed to the charms of the iPhone) I have revived The Windsor Workshop’s Facebook page and been posting regularly.
Please ‘like‘ the page and keep in touch with all that is going on here. There are lots of photos of new chairs, techniques, collecting wood, new developments…………
