Armchairs can be used at the head of a table or individually to relax in.

They are remarkably comfortable due to the extensive shaping of the seat and the way that the back of the chair supports the body.

Double-bow – smaller

Double-bow – smaller
This classic traditional chair dates from around 1770. In spite of the lightness of construction it is a tough chair that will withstand many years  of hard use. The back of the chair wraps around the sitter and supports the body very comfortably. Ideally paired with the bow-back chair.

Price: £750

Double-bow – larger

Windsor Large Double-Bow
Based on the same pattern as its smaller brother this is a large and handsome chair. The seat height is the same, but all other dimensions are larger and there are four more spindles in the back. Also pairs well with the bow-back chair.

Price: £900

This most elegant Windsor is unique in having the back and arms made from a single piece of steam-bent ash. The design dates from 1790. The low hands fit under almost all dining tables. Very comfortable. Pairs with the bow-back side chair.

Price: £800

Minimalist Armchair

Minimalist Armchair

Tool Testimonials

“This tool is phenomenal. I bought two, one for myself and another for my Windsor chairmaker instructor. Compared to the other travishers I have used, yours is very good to work with and everyone who has tried it loves it. I just ordered a second one and your two spokeshaves which I trust will be as enjoyable to use. Thanks again for making such great tools.” LG (USA) 2015
