Children’s chairs

Children’s chairs

Child’s chairs are always a favourite, particularly with grand-parents! Two contrasting high chairs are shown here. Both are designed to be pushed up to the table, but the painted chair’s design dates from around 1750, while the unadorned chair is entirely modern.

The child’s armchair is of English design, and scaled to 75% of adult size. This tough little chair is likely to become an heirloom, and will be used by some children until they are 10.
